Welcome to the weight loss version of the Alcoholics Anonymous. Weight Watchers is not so much a diet as a combination of low fat nutrition, exercising and group counseling for those who lack the motivation to lose weight on their own. The main feature of the program is, of course, the weekly meetings where members gather to discuss their dieting experience and to swap war stories, or something like it. People who can’t stick to a diet on their own and find this kind of peer support reassuring. It’s always better to know that others are going through the same thing and to talk to people who understand you.

The eating plan is based on points. Food items are given a number of points on the Weight Watchers system and each dieter is told to restrict his food to a certain amount of points every day. This means that dieters are allowed to eat foods that are not usually recommended, but only very small portions of those. Healthy foods get the lowest amount of points and so can be had in greater quantities. The eating plan also comes with good advice on healthy eating and changes in the long-term lifestyle designed to keep the extra pounds away.

Another good point is that Weight Watchers do not try to sell you any kind of special food or secret formulas that cost an arm and a leg and which turn out to be of little use to many people. On the negative side, dieters may run into troubles when trying to determine the number of points for foods which are not listed on the Weight Watchers eating plan. Also, the program costs some $45-60 per month, which may be a little too high for the cost conscious crowd and for those who can’t really afford this kind of monthly expenses.

While the Weight Watchers program is and has been a good one, it seems that the tough competition from the weight loss market is beginning to take its toll on it. The latest version of the points system is the same as the one before, but with a lot more marketing and slogans attached. The company is also more aggressive in its tactics and is trying to attract overweight people with the promise of losing weight while still eating the foods they like. This is not the best approach for people who have to change their eating habits in order to lose any kind of weight.

<img src="http://www.buzzle.com/img/articleImages/221214-49med.jpg" width="310" height="207" alt="More Tips To Improve Your Weight Loss" class="ImgBorder"

If you are like me you are probably totally sick of dieting because every time you stop the weight comes flooding back on and you just cant stop it! I have put together 10 more weight loss tips to try and sway you away from the dieting run around and to try and put you on a more steady and healthy course of weight loss.

Lets have a look at them:

Move More – Take every opportunity to expend more energy. Don’t drive if you can walk, don’t walk if you can run. See activity as an opportunity rather than an inconvenience. General moving burns a big 70% of your daily calories so try to Eat Less and Move More.

We keep looking for a fast, magical, fat loss, weight loss, health and fitness miracle but what would happen if we applied the simple concept of eating less and moving more.

Eat less junk food, eat more fruit and veggie foods, Get some regular cardio based exercise, Get stronger to protect your body, improve your quality of life and turn your body into a fat burning machine and stick with it rather than giving up after one week.

Don’t Diet – If you’re thinking of going on a diet to lose those extra pounds think again. Long-term weight control through dieting is near impossible, for the simple reason that diets promote only short-term solutions. On a diet you’ll certainly look lighter on the scales, but in most cases this is because you’ve dumped a few pounds of body fluid, and not because you’ve lost any significant amount of body fat.

Diets Don’t Work – One of the main reasons diets don’t work is because they send the body into starvation mode – a survival mechanism for times when humans faced periods of famine. Cutting back on our energy intake causes the body to lower its metabolic rate, which reduces its ability to burn fat. At the same time, hunger signals increase and we quickly start to crave high energy foods loaded with fats and sugars – the exact foods we are trying to do without!!!

Diets Put On Weight – Alarmingly, research has shown that repeated dieting actually makes it harder to lose weight and easier to put it on!! This is because when you dump the diet and return to normal eating habits, the drop in metabolic rate caused by the diet means that your old eating habits actually represent excess in calories. Not only do you regain the fat stores just lost, but also you may even gain a bit extra.

Diets Are Unhealthy – A cycle of rapid weight loss followed by weight gain can lead to loss of lean tissue from your muscles and calcium from your bones. It also strips the body of essential vitamins and minerals. Too little food means not enough energy for physical activity. Dieting causes your body to conserve energy, making results harder to achieve.

Diets Make Food The Enemy – Food provides nourishment and comfort. Diets can make you afraid to eat, depriving you of one of life’s pleasures. Going from one failed diet to the next can leave you feeling depressed and create a cycle in guilt battles against food.

A Lifelong Plan – Regular physical activity and a healthy, balanced diet aren’t as glamorous as the quick fixes, but they do get better results. Start with one extra exercise session and one less fatty takeaway meal per week, and gradually work towards a lifelong plan for achieving your best weight.

Sticking With It – If you change the way you eat or exercise to lose weight, ask yourself this question. Can I see myself sticking to this routine for life!! If the answer is “No” then it’s time to change what you’re doing.

Be Realistic – A realistic weight loss plan is around one to two pounds per week. Fast weight losses are not fat loss but glycogen and water. If you lose weight quickly then you will probable return back to the weight at which you started as quickly as it was lost.

Healthy Eating – Increase the amount of fruits, vegetables, non-fat dairy products, whole grains and beans that you eat. Eliminate calorie-dense foods such as cookies, sugary desserts, chips, fries, pizza, candies, crackers etc.

Research on people who have successfully lost a lot of weight and kept it off long term, shows that the vast majority succeeded by consuming a low fat diet high in fiber coupled with strength training and cardiovascular activity.

Your goal is to start utilizing these tips into your everyday weight loss regime to start losing weight consistently and for good.

“A few years ago it was considered chic to serve Beef Wellington; fortunately, like Napoleon, it met its Waterloo.” ~ René Veaux, Chef of Lasserre restaurant in Paris.

Here, I beg to differ with Veaux, as I personally know a lot of people who still continue to not only indulge in easy beef wellington recipes, but also keep experimenting with this very versatile dish. Called Filet de Boeuf en Croûte in French, this beef recipe is said to have derived it’s English name from the first Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley, in 1815.

Legends and lore have it, that it was Wellesley who had ascended the throne of Wellington in 1814, managed to reduce Napoleon Bonaparte’s 69,000 men strong French army to shred,s as Field Marshall of the English battalion, in the Battle of Waterloo in Belgium, on 18th June, 1815. This for him brought along Prime Minister-ship and thus, in tandem with the rest of the English world, people from the culinary domain commemorated his triumph by naming the English version of the originally French delicacy, ‘beef Wellington’. Whether the rechristening of this particular dish was a result of the English trying to anglicize the French beef tenderloin coated with pâté, in an effort to rejoice the fall of their arch-rivals, the French, or the General’s love for beef and pâté-pastry concoctions, is not really very clear. Some even say it was a mere way to honor Wellington, and had nothing to do with his food preferences, as he was least bothered with the culinary world. Other theories actually point to the fact, that a brand of lustrous military boots, brown in color, were produced at that time, named after Wellington. Beef wellington’s actually resembled these boots while being served and therefore, were they called so by the English.

So, after knowing the historic significance of this dish, I am sure you would like to know how to make beef wellington and give it a try. Here, I give you an easy beef wellington recipe. I call this one of the most easy beef recipes, as the ingredients for making easy beef wellington recipe as well as the method employed to make this elaborate looking dish, is actually quite commonplace and mundane.

Beef Wellington Recipe: Easy

Ingredients:

Beef fillet, 1(750gms)
Chicken liver pâté, 100gms
Button mushrooms, 5 oz. (finely chopped)
Egg, 1 (whipped)
Puff pastry, 500gms
Onion, 1 (finely chopped)Beef stock, 3 tbsp
Olive oil, 2 tbsp
Butter, 5 tbsp
Garlic cloves, 3 (minced)
Desiccated marjoram or thyme leaves, 1/2 tspSalt and pepper, to taste
Procedure:
Heat the oil and half the amount of butter in a saucepan, and sauté the mushrooms, onions, salt and pepper for approximately 10 minutes, until brown. Sprinkle some marjoram or thyme herbs and throw in the garlic mince and pâté. Keep stirring and after a few minutes pour the beef stock into the prepared duxelles. Keep ladling until all the liquid dissipates. Now in another fry-pan, add the remaining butter and slowly introduce the fillet. See to it that only the edges are blackened and the center is left pink, as beef wellington is best served with the middle retaining the pinkish tinge. Next lay the puff pastry on a dough dusted plane and spread the pâté mixture on it. Then position the beef fillet in the middle, on the mixture. Slowly fold in the pastry and seal the pastry edges together, around the fillet. Do not thicken the seams. Now make incisions on the pastry’s outer shell and rub some whipped egg over the cuts in polishing strokes. These slits allow the smoke to leave the arrangement as the beef cooks inside.

Place them on a baking dish and bake for 12 minutes in an oven preheated to 445 degrees F. After that, bring down the temperature to 425 degrees F and continue for another 13 minutes maximum. Remove and serve once the pastry is a rich golden brown shade.

Along with this super easy beef wellington recipe, you can serve some boiled red wine and beef broth simmered together in the same pan in which you made the pâté mix, for ten minutes. Nice isn’t it? Garnish with some parsley leaves or broccoli with handsomely thick and uniform slices cut out from the fillet, while serving. Moreover, you can serve your beef wellington with the following peppercorn condiment also.

Ingredients:
Green peppercorns, ½ a cup (soaked in saltwater, then drained)Brandy, a cup
Eschalots, 2 (finely chopped)Beef stock, a pack
Olive oil, 2 tbsp
Cream, 2 cups
Garlic cloves, 3 (crushed)
Thyme leaves, 1 twigMustard grains, 2 tbsps
Procedure:
Add the eschalots, thyme and crushed garlic to heated olive oil and stir for about a minute. Now, remove from heat, pour the brandy in it and flambé. Once the fire goes out, return to the stove and add the stock. After the contents in the pan have been reduced to half, sieve out the solid components and mix the mustard and cream to the strained solution. Boil it down to a thick consistency, switch off the flame, throw in the peppercorns and cover with a lid.

Following nine months of being pregnant and finally welcoming your little one into the world, you’re exhausted. Childbirth is an incredible experience, but can leave you feeling physically drained. What’s more, taking care of your newborn throughout the day can often seem as tiring as giving birth. Nursing, changing diapers, and a laundry list of other activities will leave you looking forward to your pillow each evening. Exercising is probably the last thing on your mind.

But consider: studies show that exercising on a regular basis will give you more energy and help you sleep more peacefully (critical for new moms). It will also relieve stress, help you shed the weight you gained during pregnancy, and keep postpartum depression at bay. With this in mind, we’ll provide a few suggestions below for getting back into shape after childbirth.

First Things First: Prep Steps For Exercising

Preparation is essential for getting the most out of your workout routine. First, make sure you have appropriate exercise clothing. Cotton is ideal because it’s gentle on your skin and allows it to breathe. Avoid workout clothes that are overly loose or cumbersome. A relaxed, snug fit will be comfortable and help you avoid tripping. You should also wear a nursing sports bra that offers sufficient support for your body. Also, buy shoes that feel comfortable on your feet.

Plan in advance to nurse your little one prior to your workout. Doing so will help you maintain your comfort while exercising.

Lastly, have water immediately available. Hydration is always important, but even more so after childbirth. If you sweat, drink. If you’re thirsty, drink. Take as many breaks as you need to stay hydrated.

Ideas For Working Out With Your Infant

One of the most common objections new mothers pose about working out is that they have very little time away from their babies. But there are plenty of exercises you can do with your little one by your side.

For example, place your infant in a stroller and take a walk. Doing so will give your cardiovascular system a mild workout and allow you to enjoy time outside. You can also leave the stroller at home and place your baby in a sling for your walk.

If you have access to a pool, consider doing water exercises with your little one. Place her on an inflatable baby tugboat. She’ll enjoy the soft, lulling motion of the water while you can work your legs under the water’s surface.

Strengthen your pelvic muscles by performing Kegels. You can do them anywhere at any time, including while driving, watching television, or holding your baby.

Yoga is also ideal because it’s a low-impact activity that you can do with your infant at your side. Through stretching and deep breathing, you’ll improve your circulation, increase your metabolism, and relieve stress. You can even help your baby stretch, giving you an opportunity to exercise together.

Put on your favorite music and dance with your little one. Dancing is good exercise because it uses multiple muscles throughout your body. Moreover, the music and movement will stimulate your infant, making the experience fun for both of you. Some experts suggest that dancing even improves a baby’s coordination and motor skills.

Getting into shape after giving birth may seem unfathomable if you’re not currently exercising. This is especially true if you neglected to exercise during your pregnancy. Now is a perfect time to start. Establish a workout routine that you can easily do with your baby by your side. Ask your doctor whether your workout is appropriate given your health. Then, start exercising. You’ll find it’s a great way to shed the pounds, get in shape, and enjoy time together with your little one.

Heaven knows we all think we’re fat enough at the moment. And to be fair, we probably are. As if the obesity crisis wasn’t bad enough already, the Christmas combination of port, stilton and the occasional bacon-wrapped chipolata does nobody any good really, if you think about it.

Recent weeks featured a rogues’ gallery of parties and longer-than-usual evenings in the pub, and there’s still the issue of the leftovers. And how’s anybody supposed to buy any healthy food at this time of year, what with all the supermarkets knocking off 8kg buckets of Quality Street at a 90% discount just because the best-before date suggests you’ve got to eat them all by 5.30pm this afternoon. And you will as well, you know it.

Really it’s just as well the new year is only 72 hours or so away, because we’re all of us a good two or three pretty serious resolutions away from a healthy lifestyle, aren’t we? Apparently 65% more people sign up to gym memberships in January than any other month, so I can’t be alone in thinking this way.

I was feeling pretty good about myself a week ago, but that all came to an end on Boxing Day, when the world of sport suddenly ganged up against me. It started with a couple of players, each of whom had managed to lose the approximately four ounces of excess body fat they had previously been laboring under, being told how much more popular, successful and good-looking they were these days.

First of all the Wakefield coach, John Kear, praised Danny Sculthorpe, who is about to take rugby league by storm with his newly trimmed tush. “He has shed the kilos and he’s looking much better than he was last year,” said Kear, sounding more like Gok Wan, star of How to Look Good Naked, than we normally expect our sporting heroes to be.

Then Tom Huddlestone knocked in a couple of goals for Tottenham, prompting his manager, Juande Ramos, to laud the fact that this young athlete, who always seemed to me to fall into the “naturally big-boned” category, was looking better than ever. “The team appreciates this because we needed this to happen,” he said. “Tom’s weight worried us a lot.”

The Spaniard then took our festive diet to task. “Turkey is a very healthy food and is one of the things that is recommended,” he said, clearly having missed Jamie Oliver’s demonstration of how to ram the maximum amount of herbed butter up a bird’s breast on Channel 4 a few days ago, a skill my Christmas Day chef appeared to have pretty much mastered. “It’s what goes with it that is different!”

But not every sportsman had become more beautiful by avoiding festive excess. Up at Wigan it seemed the opposite had happened, as their manager, Steve Bruce, turned up for the game against Newcastle looking, incredibly, less gorgeous than ever. “I’ve been poorly in the night,” he said, explaining his one nasty blood-red eye. “I’ve been repeatedly sick and burst a blood vessel.” Funnily enough, there was a bloke sitting a few rows behind me on the bus home the other night suffering exactly the same problem. Then their match-winner, Ryan Taylor, refused to appear on camera after the game. “I chipped a front tooth biting into a sweet on Christmas Eve,” he said. “Until it gets done I won’t do any television interviews because I look like Jim Carrey’s character out of Dumb and Dumber.”

Enough already, we get the message. Christmas makes you sick and ugly. A combination of regular exercise and a balanced diet makes you slim and beautiful. Now if you don’t mind I’m off to Weight Watchers, where I understand Tom Huddlestone will be conducting this week’s weigh-in.

His books continue to drive the eating habits of millions of people across the world who are desperate to find a reliable way of losing weight.

But Robert Atkins, pioneer of the controversial diet which bears his name, was clinically obese at the time of his death, a leaked medical report revealed yesterday.

Dr Atkins, who encouraged dieters to cut out carbohydrate in favour of protein, weighed in at 18 stone and four pounds when he slipped on an icy New York pavement last year.

Taking into account his height – 6ft – he would have scored 35 points under the calculation used across the world to define whether a person is fat.

A score of 25 would lead to a person being categorised as overweight. Over 30 is obese.

The report also revealed that Dr Atkins, who had followed his own diet for 39 years as well as inspiring celebrities including Brad Pitt and Geri Halliwell, had a history of heart problems.

Dr Atkins’ widow, Veronica, was furious that the details of the report had surfaced, claiming “unscrupulous” opponents of her late husband’s work were trying to undermine him and insisted his health problems were unrelated to his diet.

Following his death last April aged 72 after suffering a head injury in the fall, Dr Atkins’ family objected to a full post mortem examination being carried out. However a medical examiner carried out an “external” examination and reviewed Dr Atkins’ hospital records.

The details were revealed in the Wall Street Journal yesterday.

It had received them from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, which champions a vegetarian diet and has been a vociferous critic of Dr Atkins’ theories.

Extraordinarily, the PCRM had been sent the reports by a doctor from Nebraska who had simply requested them from the New York medical examiner’s office. The office conceded yesterday that it had passed the details on by accident.

Mrs Atkins issued a statement in which she said: “I have been assured by my husband’s physicians that my husband’s health problems late in life were completely unrelated to his diet or any diet.”

She said she was speaking out because otherwise “unscrupulous individuals will continue to twist and pervert the truth in an attempt to destroy the reputation and great work of my late husband.”

A leading champion of Dr Atkins’ theories, Stuart Trager, chairman of the Atkins Physicians Council in New York, said the doctor’s heart problems were related to a disease of the heart muscle, called cardiomyopathy, which were not be linked to diet but which led to fluid retention and bloating.

Diet motivation, well, it seems that you always find it hard to stick to your diet plan and fall off the wagon mighty fast and easy….

If you have been been on a diet, you always have this initial powerful motivation and determination you exude when starting out. You set clear-cut weight loss goal. You’re determined to achieve it, no matter what!

For the first couple of weeks, as you’re running on euphoric high and on fresh enthusiasm, you stick to your diet and achieve impressive results! You feel the diet would work and you want to keep going until you reach your goal…..

Ha! As time goes by, you lose weight more and more slowly and could even gain a few lbs here and there at some point. You begin to see your motivation slipping away; that staying motivated “hurts” real painful!

If that’s the case, I want to share 6 powerful insights with you, to keep you from ditching your diet plan and to generate fresh bout of enthusiasm for you.

1. Set Sensible Weight Loss Target

Don’t set unrealistic goals, such as losing 30 lbs in 2 months, as it’s gonna overwhelm you – you’ll be under tremendous pressure to do all things all at once, which eventually ruin your chance of success.

Just focus on your health and create sensible eating strategies – set smaller, achievable goals, like losing 5 lbs or going down by one dress size. This will take away your “fear” and “stress” and you feel more at ease and confident to achieve it.

2. Measure Yourself All Over

I mean measure literally all over- your bust, waist, hips, thighs, butts and upper arms. Take down all “vital” measurements.

Every 2 week or a month, re-measure yourself.

Every 0.5 inch lost will do wonders for you…….

3. Attitude Change

The right motivation really boils down to your attitude. Losing weight is a slow process; it’s easy to give up before you hit your target goal.

It entails real lifestyle changes and it doesn’t happen overnight. You’ve a higher chance at keeping the weight off if you lose it slowly and healthily.

If you rush through with all sorts of short-cuts (diet pills, potions, magic formulas….), they’re the real killer of your motivation to diet because the minute you stop taking them, you pile on the lbs like nobody’s business……

On the other hand, if you go for a slow, sensible and healthy weight loss of 1 lb per week, you won’t even feel the pain of doing it and the weight will come off and stay off for good.

4. Setbacks? No Big Deal!

You’ll bound to give in to temptation from time to time. It’s OK. No big deal.

Just don’t let a single splurge become an all-out binge – you know, the syndrome: “I’ve already blown it so I might as well finish whole tub of the ice-cream!”…..

Don’t perceive it as a failure and an excuse to forgo all your effort…..

When you slip up, so what? Forget it! Carry on with your diet plan!

5. Plateau, Diet Motivation Buster?

Ah…the dreaded weight loss plateau. You’ve been doing everything right, exercising and eating well and the lbs have steadily dropped. Then suddenly, it’s zil. The lbs stay same several days in a row.

Hello, this is perfectly normal. Don’t panic and don’t get frustrated!

You should turn it around and congratulate yourself on the success you’ve had so far. The plateau is a natural part of the weight loss process.

When you hit it, try something slightly different to jump-start your diet. May be commit yourself to expending an extra 100 calories a day with walking, for example, and also look honestly to see if you’re backsliding in little ways with your diet.

Normally, a few small adjustments here and there and you’re back on course.

6. Reward Yourself

Dieting is hard work and no fun sometimes.

Hence, little rewards along the way can serve as incentives to keep you going.

Set mini-goals and reward yourself when you reach them. Reward could be a massage, a pair of designer sport shoes, a new pair of jeans, a hot bubble bath……

When you celebrate your diet success in this way, you strengthen your resolve to continue on.

Cecelia Yap is an avid exerciser and author of a popular exercise website that’s born out of her passion which she successfully turns into a profitable business. Perhaps you have a passion or hobby you’d like to write about. Find out how you too can turn it into a profitable business like Cecelia does and know more about money making.

Founded in the early 1960s by Jean Nidetch, Weight Watchers runs one of the most popular worldwide weight loss programs and it has a proven 40 year track record of helping dieters to lose weight. Weight Watchers has a global network of classes or meetings involving 25 million people per week, and their official website gives details of all services.

Trying to diet or dying to try it? Try a healthy way to attain your ideal weight. Now you’ve stuffed yourself silly with a shed load of chocolate, you may need to start thinking about trying to remove that cumbersome piece of flab from around your waist. The new Weight Watchers website is a welcome help for dieters around the world. One of the best sections is Food & Recipes, which gives you plenty of ideas for tasty, but healthy meals. Weight Watchers is a diet program based on a points system. As a membership based program, it combines weight loss and exercises. With groups around the world, Weight Watchers offers special foods, cook-books, weight watchers recipes and exercise plans. Weight Watchers Points are awarded for success and the dieter has the support of members from his group.

Many of today’s diets are reliant upon dieters cutting out a particular food group for at least a short period of time in order to experience dramatic and speedy weight loss. However, cutting out a whole food group on a permanent basis is not healthy, and therefore the eliminated food must, at some point, be re-introduced. Logic dictates that if you lose weight by cutting out a certain food group, then you will put weight on by re-introducing it. This makes long-term weight loss without the fear of ill-health very difficult to attain on these faddy diets.

Weight Watchers works by encouraging members to eat all the necessary food groups for a healthy and balanced diet. There is no cutting back or eliminating carbs, protein, etc. The theory behind the eating plan is very simple: to control fat and calorie intake and to educate in healthy eating and regular activity.

Weight Watchers is based upon weekly support group motivation and their own point system to keep calories in check.

Although weight loss is much slower on the Weight Watchers diet than with many others, you will not be losing out on valuable nutrients, you will not be left feeling hungry or craving certain foods and you will be able to learn and adopt healthier eating habits. And the fact that weight loss is slower is not as bad as it may sound – many nutritionists argue that it is the only safe way to lose weight and keep it off.

The Weight Watchers program encourages healthy food choices and addresses lifestyle changes needed for long term weight control. Specific data on their members long term success is not available, but their program is designed for healthy weight management. It supports group and weekly weigh-ins provide motivation for those who need group support. Meetings are widely available. Diet is well balanced and no special foods or formulas are required.

By following the Weight Watchers eating plan, members can expect to lose an average of 1-2lb per week. Exercise is also encouraged, but not necessarily in the form of expensive gyms and exercise classes…even household chores such as hovering and gardening are classed as exercise and can help speed up the weight loss.

Weight Watchers does not set unachievable goals for members, nor does it condone under-eating to try and lose weight. Their emphasis is on healthy, nutritious eating; regular meals; and some form of physical activity to help with weight loss. The eating plans are designed to be practical, invaluable tools to assist dieters in controlling their fat and calorie intake and moderating portions.

Weight Watchers Online is the online version of the traditional weight loss center-based weight loss program. The online version follows the “Winning Points Plan,” which focuses on balanced low fat nutrition, exercise, 24/7 online chat and support groups. Included is a newsletter as well. The standard monthly plan costs $44.95 for the sign-up fee and first month and $14.95/month thereafter. The 3-month prepay plan costs $59.95 and $14.95/month thereafter.

Another key aspect of the Weight Watchers diet is the level of support that is provided. Members become part of a club: an everyday group of people who meet once a week and share a common goal – to lose weight and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. These meetings give members the opportunity to get weighed and monitor weekly weight loss or gain, take part and listen to a motivating and informative talk given by the group ‘leader’, exchange ideas and advice, and discuss any relevant issues with the rest of the group or the leader. The meetings serve to provide encouragement and motivation for dieters, as well as promoting a strong sense of support. Further encouragement is provided in the form of certificates and awards for reaching key milestones in your weight loss targets. The leader of the group is normally somebody who has previously been a regular member of Weight Watchers, and has reached and maintained their ‘goal’ weight. The team leader is therefore able to talk straight from the heart, relating to what other members may be going through and providing experience-based tips and advice to help them along the way. Members are likely to receive yet more encouragement by seeing, through their leader, that weight loss is achievable.

Weight Watchers is a commercial weight loss program that focuses on balanced low fat nutrition, exercise and group counseling. Its latest diet creation is called “FlexPoints” and is based on its successful “Winning Points Plan.” Every item of food from pizza to ice cream to carrots to bread has a point’s value based on its nutritional content. You may eat as you like as long as you stay within your allotment of points. Each week you have 35 reserve points (flexpoints) to use for unplanned activities or cravings. This new program is basically the same as the old, but uses the points in a slightly different manner. You are assisted by a points “calculator” and recipes provided by Weight Watchers. To assist the dieter in their lifestyle changes all members are encouraged to attend group discussion and counseling sessions, mostly in person, at local Weight Watchers centers.

‘Achieving weight loss and getting into shape’ can undoubtedly rank among the Top 10 most-popular New Year resolutions ever. Most people desire weight loss due to medical or health-related reasons, whereas a growing number of individuals target weight loss for beauty-related as well as social reasons. Whatever be the reason, the fact remains that weight loss has more or less become a global movement in recent years. Many people have a tendency of desiring instant results in life, weight loss being no exception either. They cannot fathom the thought of a year-long diet or a workout and are very much interested in short-term plans. Well, for all you impatient weight watchers out there, here is the best way to lose weight in a week.

The Best Way to Lose Weight in a Week
Slow and healthy weight loss involves a combination of several factors such as diets, exercises, muscle building, yoga, etc. The same applies even if you wish to lose weight really fast, say within a week or two. Basically, how fast can you lose weight depends on how you go about your calorie intake and calorie burning. This is the single-most important principle behind weight loss. Let us look at the various factors which contribute towards weight loss:

Dieting: First and foremost, there is no such ‘rapid weight loss diet’ which will single-handedly succeed in getting you to shed those pounds. Any diet that does attempt to do so will only endanger your health. Always keep in mind that your weight loss diet is only a part of your entire weight loss program, it is not the whole and soul of it. Follow a diet plan that is rich in fiber, extremely low in fat, moderately low in carbohydrates and moderately high in protein. In simple words, opt for a lot of salads and green leafy vegetables. Avoid all oily and fried foods, cut down on the rice, and replace red meat with high-protein stuff like fish. Above all, drink lots and lots of water as it helps to cleanse and detoxify your system.
Exercises: The best exercises to lose weight are those which help you burn the maximum number of calories. Engage in some high-intensity cardio activities like running, swimming, brisk walking, cycling, squash, aerobic exercises, etc. There is no substitute to exercise and you have to accept it, whether you like it or not.
Muscle Building: Strength training is one of the best ways to lose weight as it assists the process of muscle building. Muscle building requires calories and therefore, the more muscle you build, the more calories you burn and the more weight you lose!
Yoga: Yoga has a significant role to play in weight loss. There are certain specific asanas which, along with other benefits, also result in healthy weight loss. Ashtanga yoga, Bikram yoga, and certain Pranayam techniques like kapalbhati and bhasrika pranayam are known to play a major role in shedding those extra pounds.
Above all, stay positive and focused. Don’t be disheartened if the results do not show up immediately. Try not to compare your weight loss progress chart with someone else’s and even if you do, and you find yourself lagging behind, don’t get negative and depressed. Each person’s rate of metabolism is different and this is the reason why weight loss results differ from person to person.

So, if you were hellbent on discovering the best way to lose weight in a week, and are still in the dark about which is the quickest way to lose weight, the answer is all of the above and NOT one of the above.

There are many diet pills and supplements that claim to aid in lose weight fast, but if you wish to learn how to lose weight fast without pills or surgery, you need to keep a few important things in mind. Firstly, these diet pills and supplements almost always have some side effects on the human body, because they disrupt the entire balance of chemicals within. Moreover, they tend to suppress one’s hunger and this is definitely not a healthy or beneficial effect.

Secondly, diet pills and supplements are artificially made, so when you stop taking them your problems will come back. It is far better to kill the weight problem by tackling them at their source. Changing one’s lifestyle, habits and preferences is much more effective than taking diet pills in order to aid natural weight loss.

How to lose Weight Fast Without Pills

There is a wide range of pills and nutritional supplements that you can take to lose weight, but the repercussions of these mean that this is something you should not be doing. Here are some ways to lose weight fast without pills, for you.

Exercise
This is obviously the most effective way to lose weight. Visit a gym regularly and settle down on a good routine and workout regime. Get a physical trainer to help you out with this, and soon you will see the dividends of your efforts. If you do not exercise regularly, do not expect to lose weight fast. But if you’re looking for ways on how to lose weight fast without pills and exercise, then the following activities may help you.

Water
Experts say that 6-8 glasses of water a day are good enough for you. But we say, drink lots more. The more water you drink, the more toxins are flushed out from your body. This definitely aids in weight loss, so don’t hold back when it comes to drinking as much water as you can throughout the day.

Diet
This is another very crucial point to keep in mind for losing weight. If you eat oily and fatty food items, you will certainly put on a lot of weight. Control what you eat, and indulge yourself in greasy food items only once in a while. The importance of consuming a healthy diet and a well balanced diet cannot be stressed enough.

Duration Between Meals
You may have already heard that you should eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day, rather than 3 big meals. The concept of one big breakfast, followed by lunch and dinner is now obsolete. Eat smaller portions at regular intervals throughout the day, and healthy weight loss will be much easier to obtain for you. Most people tend to ignore this point though, when they find out about how to lose weight fast without pills.

Vegetables and Fiber
By including vegetables and fiber in your diet, you are ensuring that not much fat enters your system. These are very healthy food items to be consumed, and they bring many more nutritional benefits to your body as well. Even the best weight loss pills cannot offer you these nutrients in the right balance like green vegetables do.

Get Active
If you are leading a sedentary lifestyle, this is the biggest obstacle to losing weight. You need to start waking up early in the morning and getting as active as you can. Sitting lazily in front of the TV all day is obviously going to make you eat more, and thus put on a lot of weight. Get a new hobby, start walking to places, join some interesting courses; do just about anything that keeps your mind and body occupied. These articles on how to lose weight fast naturally and lose weight without exercise fast will also help you get slimmer.

Involve your Family and Friends
If you have vowed to undertake all of these tasks, then it will help to get support from your family and friends around you.
